Free public lecture with Dr. Mike Brown, author of 'How I Killed Pluto and Why It Had It Coming,' March 28

Dr. Mike Brown, author of "How I Killed Pluto and Why It Had It Coming," will give a free public lecture on Monday, March 28 at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. 

Brown is the Richard and Barbara Rosenberg Professor of Planetary Astronomy at the California Institute of Technology. Among his numerous scientific accomplishments, he is best known for his discovery of Eris, the largest object found in the solar system in 150 years, and the object which led to the debate and eventual demotion of Pluto from planet to dwarf planet.



This is event is sponsored by the University of Alaska Anchorage and the Eagle River Nature Center with generous support of ExxonMobil, Alyeska Pipeline Service Company and Alaska Airlines. It is free and open to the public. Parking is free on the UAA campus after 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and all day on Fridays.
