Colonel David Fitz-Enz discusses 'The Mere Matter of Marching' April 18

Colonel David G. Fitz-Enz will discuss his book, "The Mere Matter of Marching: Thomas Jefferson, the War of 1812 and the Taking of Canada."

Colonel David G. Fitz-Enz is author of the book, "The Final Invasion: Plattsburgh, the War of 1812's Most Decisive Battle" and he co-produced and wrote the television program "The Final Invasion" for PBS and authored the companion book.

For 30 years he was a regular Army officer and retired in 1993. His military honors include the Soldier's Medal for Heroism, the Bronze Star for Valor in combat, the Air Medal for sustained aerial combat and the Legion of Merit. In 1984 was appointed special assistant to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe. In 2001 he received "The Distinguished Writing Prize" from the Army Historical Foundation for his book, "The Final Invasion."
