This week, College of Business and Economic Policy economics student Cristina Gaina is traveling to Kamchatka, Russia, to conduct economics experiments with local villagers. The National Science Foundation project will eventually compare the findings from Russia to similar experiments conducted in western Alaska. Gaina will also be running a separate set of experiments for her honors thesis. She is traveling with a UAA-led research team, which includes scholars from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and the University of Washington.
