Picking up 2011 Lemonade Day (May 1) backpacks

by Kathleen McCoy  |

Anchorage companies and organizations are joining forces to encourage young entrepreneurs to open for business on Lemonade Day. This innovative program, Lemonade Day, will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Lemonade Day is a free, community-wide program dedicated to teaching children how to start, own and operate their own business through the simple and time-honored act of building and running a lemonade stand.

This year, the goal of Lemonade Day is to have 1,100 new entrepreneurs hit the streets of Anchorage on Sunday, May 1. On Lemonade Day, everyone has a job -- either buying or selling lemonade. Anchorage residents are encouraged to simply purchase a cup of lemonade from one of the youth participating in the program, to demonstrate how our community cares for the future of youth in Anchorage.
