Percussion Ensemble spring concert April 19, 2011

The UAA Percussion Ensemble's exciting spring concert will feature four of Southcentral Alaska's most dynamic percussionists, mixing and blending the sounds of percussion instruments from around the world into a magical percussion concert of memorable melodies set to the hot World Beat grooves of Brazilian Choro, Trinidadian Soca, Cuban Mambo, Guatemalan Marimba music, American Jazz and Ragtime, Rudimental drum line and more. This will be a fun, rhythmically exciting concert that is not to be missed.

Concert selections will include:

  • "Vou Vivendo"-Brazilian Choro
  • "Moose the Mooche"-American Jazz
  • "Play one for Keith"-Soca from Trinidad
  • "Four Horsemen"-Rudimental Drum line
  • "emiafro Pandeiro Trio"-Brazilian tambourines to the max!
  • "The Whistler" ragtime Quintet
  • "Vamos a Ecuador"-Traditional Ecuadorian marimba music
  • "4/4 for Four"-A rocking contemporary percussion piece
