Spring 2011: FTC offers smorgasbord of workshops

by Kathleen McCoy  |

Monday-Friday, May 9-13
UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 214 and eLive

The Faculty Technology Center is offering all its workshops next week -- 25 sessions in all. All workshops are open to UAA and community campus faculty and staff. Additionally, all workshops, unless otherwise stated, will be mixed-mode, that is, both in our lab in Lib 214 and via eLive. See the FTC workshop page to check out the schedule and pre-register by Friday, May 6.

Here are some highlights:
Luke Weld in the FTC will be sharing Prezi in his Wednesday morning workshop. With Prezi, you can create interesting presentations easily. The video in the Start Here in summer and fall 2011 Blackboard shells was made with Prezi.\

Katie Walker from the College of Education and Lee Henrikson from the FTC are teaming up to offer a "Cool Tools" session on Friday, May 13 from 2:30-4 p.m. We will feature two online multimedia tools -- Vuvox and Glogster. You can learn how to build a cool interactive timeline or how to assign a multimedia poster as a student project.

Drop-ins are welcome at all sessions, but please check the website first.  A couple workshops are almost full and a couple may be cancelled due to low enrollments.
