UAA dental programs' Free Dental Day a success

On April 9, UAA's dental hygiene and dental assisting programs hosted the first annual Free Dental Day. Students, staff, faculty and several members of the local dental community volunteered their time to offer free dental services to the Anchorage community.
About 80 people received nearly $30,000 worth of dental services. Volunteers provided quality dental care to patients, including sealants, exams and fillings, among other treatments.
The event was made possible thanks to volunteers and donations from First National Bank of Alaska, Patterson Dental Supply and Starbucks.
