"Regulating Offshore Oil and Gas Activity Around the Arctic"
Wednesday, Aug. 17, 12-1 p.m.
Diplomacy building (4500 Diplomacy Drive), conference room, fifth floor

Join us at the Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER) to hear Betsy Baker talk about recent initiatives from around the Arctic regarding offshore oil and gas regulation. Dr. Baker is an associate professor at the Vermont Law School, as well as senior fellow for Oceans and Energy at the school's Institute for Energy and the Environment. She will discuss, among other things, implementation of the Arctic offshore oil and gas guidelines developed by the Arctic Council's Protection of the Arctic Marine Environment (PAME) Working Group, the Canadian National Energy Board's "Arctic Review," and "A Circumpolar Inuit Declaration on Resource Development Principles in Inuit Nunaat," issued by the Inuit Circumpolar Council earlier this year.
