Constitution Day Polaris Lecture: 'The Federalist Understanding of the Constitution,' Sept. 17

You are cordially invited to attend the seventh annual Constitution Day Polaris Lecture, "The Federalist Understanding of the Constitution." Our speaker, John S. Baker, Jr., is Distinguished Scholar in Residence at the Catholic University of America Law School. He is Professor Emeritus of Law, and previously served as the Dale E. Bennett Professor of Law, at Louisiana State University Law School.

Professor Baker earned his first degree from the University of Dallas, his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and his Ph.D. from the University of London. He is co-author of Hall's Criminal Law: Cases and Materials, 5th ed. and An Introduction to the Law of the United States. He regularly argues in federal court, including two cases before the U. S. Supreme Court. Professor Baker was a co-founder of Stratfor, Inc., a global intelligence agency that Barron's once described as "the shadow CIA," and co-authored its first book, The Intelligence Edge.


The Polaris Lecture Series, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Forty-Ninth State Fellows Program, UAA's University Honors College and the Polaris Society.
