Supervisor and employee trainings, OCDC fall calendar, through Dec. 15

The UAA Office of Campus Diversity and Compliance (OCDC) promotes diversity and is responsible for managing and coordinating university policies, procedures and programs regarding equal opportunity and affirmative action. OCDC provides training for supervisors and employees in an effort to know their rights with regard to the Americans with Disabilities Act, preventing sexual harassment, respectful workplace and welcoming diversity and inclusion.

Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Workshop: Recent developments with the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA) made significant changes to the definition of "disability." Supervisors, do you know what to do if an employee makes a request for a reasonable accommodation or disclosures impairment? This workshop will provide discussion on the ADA, address practical questions regarding reasonable accommodations and identify internal resources with expertise that can assist you.

Respectful Workplace Workshop: This training underscores the commitment to a workplace and educational environment that is free from unlawful discrimination and harassment. The university is committed to maintaining an environment in which faculty, staff, students and visitors of the University's campuses are treated with civility, dignity and respect. Supervisors will engage in discussions, exploring how to recognize characteristics of illegal, offensive and disrespectful workplace behaviors, shared responsibility for creating and maintaining a respectful workplace and an understanding of how behaviors/choices can impact the work environment. 

All trainings will be held at the University Lake Building (ULB), Room 104.
