Tulsa's Chef Devin Levine is the guest of honor at the 19th Annual Celebrity Chef Invitational - Sept. 21, 2011

The 19th Annual Celebrity Chef Invitational will highlight the culinary creations of Chef Devin Levine, executive chef of SAVOR... Catering by SMG, an in-house catering service for the BOK Center and Tulsa Convention Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The by-invitation-only event will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21 in the Lucy Cuddy Hall on UAA's campus.

The Celebrity Chef Invitational will feature a five-course extravaganza prepared by Executive Chef Levine, who will be assisted by five of Anchorage's most respected and prominent chefs: Chef Clifton Lyles, LSG Skychefs; Chef John Layton, Knik River Valley Culinary Services; Chef Shane Moore, Spenard Roadhouse; Chef Jeremy Gauster, Fletcher's Hotel Captain Cook; Chef Roberto Bonilla, Snow Goose Restaurant and Sleeping Lady Brewery. Each team will be led by an Anchorage chef and made up of groups of UAA's talented culinary arts students.

The black tie event is a fundraiser to support the UAA Culinary Arts and Hospitality Program General Support Fund, which provides student scholarship opportunities and maintenance of state-of-the-art learning facilities.

 

Chef Devin Levine is the executive chef of SAVOR... Catering by SMG, the in-house catering service for the BOK Center and Tulsa Convention Center, one of the largest convention complexes in the Midwest. SAVOR... has built a national reputation for superior food and beverage service in convention centers, stadiums, arenas and performing arts venues.

A native Tulsan, Chef Levine began his career more than 40 years ago and was one of the first graduates of the American Culinary Federation Educational Institute in the Midwest. He earned his Certified Executive Chef credential in 1990.

Chef Levine's specialties include seafood and small wine dinners, but he also prepares delicacies for thousands with the same skilled touch. He has had the honor of serving as executive chef for 14 major golf tourneys, including five prestigious Masters Tournaments.

Chef Levine currently serves as chairman of the American Culinary Federation Tulsa Chapter and sits on the Oklahoma Restaurant Association Board of Directors.
