Food Cooperative Development in Alaska, Oct. 13

Interested in local food, farmer's markets, CSAs and food co-ops? Don't know what some of those are but interested in finding out? Join the UAA Center for Economic Development and the UAF Cooperative Extension for an all-day workshop on Cooperative Development in Alaska on Thursday, Oct. 13. Meredith Rafferty from the Northwest Cooperative Development Center, and well-known for her work with on-line food co-ops, will be the featured speaker. Drawing on other programs around the state (e.g., Fairbanks Community Cooperative Market and Sitka Community Supported Fisheries Program), the workshop will facilitate a dialogue on how a food co-op could work here in Anchorage.
