Oct. 28, 2011: NCBI's 'Welcoming Diversity, Prejudice Reduction' workshop

Please join the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI)/UAA team for the award-winning "Welcoming Diversity, Prejudice Reduction" one-day workshop for faculty and staff. Don't miss the opportunity to join colleagues and engage in an experiential process. This series of activities will help participants to increase cultural competence and build effective relationships within and across group identities. The one-day workshop will focus on:

• Celebrating similarities and differences
• Recognizing information and misinformation learned about other groups including their own
• Identifying and expressing pride in the group(s) to which a person belongs
• Learning skills to effectively respond to offensive remarks and comments
  

Every group counts and every group is important in welcoming diversity on our campus.
