by Jamie Gonzales  |

Recommendations due: Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011
Luncheon: Friday, Jan. 27, 2012
Student Union Cafeteria

As part of UAA's celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Chancellor's Office and Student Activities proudly present the 18th Annual MLK Student Appreciation Luncheon on Jan. 27. The keynote speech will be presented by Isabel Wilkerson, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author of the New York Times' bestseller The Warmth of Other Suns.

One of Dr. King's important messages is that we as individuals can make a difference in the lives of others. We would like recognize students, whether they are known to be a leader or a behind-the-scenes worker, for their contributions to UAA.

All UAA faculty and staff are invited to honor students by submitting recommendations online by Wednesday, Nov. 23.

Faculty and staff may recommend up to three students, who will then receive personal invitations to the luncheon and a certificate of appreciation. Recommenders will be invited to join their student(s) for the luncheon.

If you have any questions regarding this event, please contact Student Activities at (907) 786-1219 or mlk@uaa.alaska.edu for additional information.
