Battery recycling comes to UAA

The UAA Office of Sustainability now provides battery recycling for students, staff and faculty! This is a pilot program--its success determines whether or not we are able to continue the program.
We accept work-related batteries in the following sizes: 4.5V, 9V, D, C, AA, AAA and lantern-type 6V batteries. For your safety and the safety of others, tape up the ends (i.e. the anodes) to prevent short circuits. After taping up your used batteries, just place them in a plastic bag and leave them at the nearest recycling bin. The UAA Office of Sustainability Recycle Crew will pick up the batteries for you when they pick up paper, cardboard, cans and plastic bottles!
