Fridays and Saturdays, 8 p.m.
Sundays, 3 p.m.
UAA Mainstage Theatre, Fine Arts Building, Room 220

UAA Department of Theatre and Dance is pleased to present, "Playboy of the Western World," by John Millington Synge.

Written in 1907, "Playboy of the Western World" caused riots when it opened at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. Patriots considered it "a slander against the name of Ireland." At issue is a young lad, on the run, who enters a coastal Mayo town and is immediately hailed a hero after stating he killed his "da." But not all is as it seems, and before the day is out all present will learn a bit about truth, love and the easy slide down the path of self-deception.

Come discover why this lovely, lyric play, so full of authentic characters and unexpected plot twists, is now considered an Irish classic.

Tickets are available at the UAA Box Office by calling (907) 786-4849 or through CenterTix.

Please address questions to the director, Tom Skore, at aftts@uaa.alaska.edu or (907) 786-1740.
