KRUA Ghost HandsNext Tuesday, Feb. 14, UAA's student-run radio station will celebrate its 20th year on the airwaves.

UAA Student Activities will help KRUA celebrate its birthday by hosting a special anniversary edition of Noon Music, featuring local artist Ghost Hands. The group will perform in the Student Union Cafeteria on Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 12-1 p.m. to commemorate this major milestone for "Alaska's College Radio Station." Noon Music is free and open to the public.

KRUA has made tremendous strides since its initial broadcast of R.E.M.'s "It's the End of the World as We Know It" on Feb. 14, 1992. With contributions from current and past KRUA volunteers and staff, the station continues to serve UAA, Anchorage and the state by broadcasting diverse programs, campus and local entertainment, informative lectures, sports and news.
