Students weigh donations for the OneShirt Clothing DriveThe Office of Sustainability and SustainU thank you for your participation in the second annual UAA ONEShirt National Collegiate Clothing Drive! There were approximately 32 gracious donors this year and a total of 492.2 lbs. of donations. The UAA Recycle Crew also helped out by collecting the donated items that were deposited near recycling bins all across campus.

All donations went to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska, a non-profit organization. The organization will use the money from donations to perform background checks of their adult mentors, recruit adult mentors, provide cultural and social activities for children and their families, provide one-on-one supervision and support for every adult/child match, ensure trained professionals match children to caring and responsible adult mentors, and more.

If you are interested in learning more about how your donations will help Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska, visit their website.

With your help, the UAA ONEShirt National Collegiate Clothing Drive will be even bigger and better next year. Kudos, UAA!
