CAFE invites faculty to this upcoming Student Success session of the Native Case Studies Faculty Learning Community.

In 2000, Cook Inlet Tribal Council (CITC), in partnership with the Anchorage School District, launched a pilot project to test a unique new "school within a school" educational model at the elementary, middle school and high school levels. Designed to close the gap between educational performance between Alaska Native and non-Native students, the program reaches over 1,000 Alaska Native young people annually. Encompassing math, science, language arts, and other core subjects, it has reduced the achievement gap for high school students at Bartlett and West High School, and ensured that more Alaska Native students successfully make the transition to college. Join us to hear Gail Weinstein share her experiences with the program at Bartlett.
