Juror's Lecture: Wednesday, April 18, 7 p.m., Fine Arts Building, Room 150
Opening Reception: Thursday, April 19, 5-7 p.m., UAA Student Union Gallery
Mid-day Reception: Monday, April 23, 1:30-3 p.m., UAA Student Union Gallery
Show dates: April 19-May 3, Mondays-Thursdays, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Fridays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
 
The Student Union Gallery presents the Juried Student Art Show.
 
This exhibition runs from Thursday, April 19, through Thursday, May 3, and will consist of work from outstanding UAA art students, selected by Alaska juror, Chad Carpenter. Awards are given for the demonstration of superior skill, creativity and technique.
 
On Wednesday, April 18, there will be a Juror Lecture by Chad Carpenter.

About the juror
Alaska-raised Chad Carpenter is the creator of the thriving comic strip, Tundra. Tundra runs in almost 500 newspapers throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, Jamaica and Trinidad. In 2008, Carpenter was presented the Reuben Award for "Best Newspaper Panel" by the National Cartoonist Society. Tundra has become the most successful self-syndicated newspaper comic in history.
