From Alaska Dispatch:

"The potential for a bad breakup-Alaska's name for the watery woes brought on when winter melts away-has sparked so much anxiety that Sen. Lisa Murkowski is hosting a roundtable to prepare Alaskans for flooding.

'When the Waters Rise' will feature state and federal emergency authorities evaluating the potential for ice jams in major rivers and big snowmelts draining off mountains in a live-streamed roundtable set to broadcast to communities across Alaska.

Murkowski's event will be held in Room 107 of the Gorsuch Commons at the University of Alaska Anchorage campus on Thursday, April 5 from 10-11 a.m., with a webcast that can be viewed here.
