The UAF Center for Distance Education is pleased to offer all UA system faculty, staff and students free registration to attend the 17th Annual Technology, Colleges and Community (TCC) Worldwide Online Conference April 17-19 on Emerging Technologies: Trends & Issues.

This fully online conference contains many sessions of interest to anyone using technology as part of teaching, whether face-to-face, distance or hybrid! See registration details below:

Registration information and First Badge - In order to access the online conference sessions, you will need to create a Badgestack community username and password. Setting one up is easy. Visit this link. Complete the form, choosing a username and password. You will be prompted for a "Participant Invite Code." Your code is: ua76j. Once you have completed the form, check your email for the confirmation note from the "TCC." Click on the link and then log in to the TCC community.

Digital badges - TCC is the first and only conference to award Mozilla "OBI Compliant" badges for your participation and contributions. By completing Step 1 above you will have earned the "TCC Participant Badge" which you may immediately post on Facebook, LinkedIn or other social networks. Here is a short video that explains TCC badges.

Check your computer - The live sessions will take place on the Elluminate Live platform. We highly recommend that you visit the "Technical Check" page now from the computer you plan to use to participate in the live conference presentations. Computer headphones or speakers are needed to hear the live session audio. A microphone is recommended, but not required.

How to access the live sessions - During the conference, enter all live sessions from the description of each presentation. Click on "Live Program" located at the top of every TCC community page for a complete list.

At the time of an event, find the presentation of interest and click the title of the session to be directed to the session's description. Next, click the green "Enter" button that appears immediately beneath the description and you'll be on your way into the virtual room for that session.

Time zone help - The time and date for each event is listed on the Program page in Hawaii Standard Time. The Current Conference Time is shown on the right-hand side of each page. You can also click the "HST" link next to the time on any session page to see its time listed in time zones around the world.
