UAA Confucius Institute is helping to recruit a group of approximately 30 American high school students for the two-week summer camp in July this year. The Chinese Bridge Summer Camp, held July 15-29, 2012, is sponsored by Hanban in cooperation with various Confucius Institutes in the U.S. for American high school students to experience Chinese language and culture. The group will be escorted by three chaperones from the U.S. and accompanied by local Chinese students and teachers.

Camp Activities

During the program, students will be studying Chinese language and culture (paper-cutting, calligraphy, traditional painting, tea ceremony, martial arts and more), participating in various sports and cultural activities (friendly basketball matches, international student get-togethers, host family experiences etc.); and visiting places of interest of China's long history and sites of natural beauty. The group will visit Beijing and one province in China (among Jilin, Henan, Shanxi, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangxi and Fujian), which will be decided and arranged by Hanban.
