Applications now available for Alaska Jazz Workshop Summer 2012 Jazz Class and Camp

The Alaska Jazz Workshop Summer 2012 Jazz Class and Camp applications are now available at the Alaska Jazz Workshop website or by calling (907) 332-3234. Beginner, intermediate and advanced sections will be offered for students in grades 7-12, university students and adults. Students will explore the creative world of jazz improvisation with Alaska jazz master artists John Damberg, Mark Manners and (for the August camp only) internationally acclaimed jazz baritone saxophonist Denis Diblasio.

New students must schedule a level-placement audition with John Damberg at (907) 332-3234. Damberg is the founder and director of the Alaska Jazz Workshop, director of the UAA Percussion Ensemble and a professor at UAA.
