Bike to Work Day 2012

Bike to Work Day is this Friday, May 18. UAA's team, the Cycling Seawolves, is already registered. You can join any time up to and including May 18. Join by contacting Theresa Cho at tdcho@uaa.alaska.edu or (907) 786-4634. Alternatively, form your own team and register with the municipality through their website. Please let us know if you form your own team though, that way we can keep track of how many riders UAA has. In 2010, the Cycling Seawolves had 111 riders. Let's get 150 this year! Not only is this a chance to reduce carbon emissions and trim your waistline, participants will be eligible for a host of goodies.

Thanks to Dining Services, all UAA Bike to Work Day patrons can get free 12 oz. drip coffee or tea from UAA's Starbucks and Raven's Brew cafés.

Additionally, if you fill out the survey after you ride in you will be entered to win free prizes. A small sampling of which includes a float trip for two with Alaska Wildland Adventures, two-night stay with Princess Lodges, Novara backpack from REI, $25 gift card to Midnight Sun/Bear Tooth, $50 gift card to Escape Salon, $25 gift card to Snow City Cafe and three-month membership with Elite Performance.
