Dr. Bruno Kappes presents psychophysiology and biofeedback lectures at Tianjin Normal University in China

Dr. Bruno Kappes delivered two presentations to the Academy of Psychology and Behavior, Tianjin Normal University in Tianjin, China. The talks took place on Monday and Tuesday, May 14-15, 2012.

Prof. Bruno Kappes teaching in ChinaProfessor Kappes first gave a two-hour presentation/demonstration entitled "Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback: Demonstration Workshop on Modalities" to undergraduate psychology academy students on Monday, May 14. His second talk, a two-hour lecture presentation to graduate students and psychology faculty on Tuesday, May 15, was entitled "Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback: Clinical and Research Applications."

Kappes is professor of psychology and health science at the University of Alaska Anchorage. He is a licensed psychologist, certified biofeedback therapist and certified medical psychotherapist. Professor Kappes has been active in applied psychophysiology research over the last 40 years, with his first research publication in 1973 in the Journal of Biofeedback and Self-Regulation. He is also a 40-year member of the Association of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB) where he has served as International Division president, board member, on several program committees, and as president of the Council of State Societies. He has also served as a board member of the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA)1986-89, and later in 2006-08.

He has conducted research on frostbite, cold injury, stress and has provided biofeedback therapy to numerous Alaskans who have sustained PTSD and serious physical injuries resulting from traumatic accidents.
