Mat-Su College announces winners of 2012 High School Portfolio Scholarship Contest

Winners Brittany McCaulley and Grace Kari, of Colony High School, pose with recently retired Assistant Professor of Art Suzanne BachMatanuska-Susitna College has recently held their Annual High School Portfolio Scholarship Contest. The competition is based on high school students' portfolios consisting of twelve pieces of art. The college is pleased to announce the first place winner is Grace Kari of Colony High School.

Kari receives a full year's tuition at Mat-Su College and a permanent bronze plaque with her name on it that will be displayed in the art department. "Grace shows great promise with her art," said recently retired Assistant Professor of Art Suzanne Bach.

Second place winner Brittany McCaulley receives tuition for six credits at Mat-Su College for her portfolio of photography. Whitney Wang, of Palmer High School, won third place.
