June 12, 2012: NCBI presents 'Welcoming Diversity, Prejudice Reduction' workshop for UAA staff

Please join the UAA National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) team for the award-winning, one-day "Welcoming Diversity, Prejudice Reduction" workshop for UAA staff. Don't miss the opportunity to join colleagues in exploring techniques for creating a welcoming culture and learning ways to eliminate prejudice. This series of activities will help participants increase cultural competence and build effective relationships within and across group identities.

The workshop will focus on:

• Celebrating similarities and differences
• Recognizing information and misinformation learned about other groups, including their own
• Identifying and expressing pride in the group(s) to which a person belongs
• Learning skills to effectively respond to offensive remarks and comments
