UAA professor of percussion John Damberg is also the executive director and founder
of the Alaska Jazz Workshop (AJW), a nonprofit organization designed to teach young
people jazz. The students in the advanced section will be performing a show from 7-9
p.m. at Organic Oasis on Saturday, July 21. The AJW Advanced Student Jazz Ensemble
features Southcentral Alaska's hottest young jazz artists jamming on blues, jazz,
Latin and funk grooves.
Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $5 for adults and students. Children under 12 are admitted free.
