Everyone is encouraged to come to the UAA Campus Bookstore to welcome and meet our special guests who will discuss the life of Sherpa mountaineers in Room 150 of the Fine Arts Building later in the evening. This event is free and open to the public. There will also be free parking in the South Lot (the lot just across from the bookstore) for it. 'Buried in the Sky: The Extraordinary Story of the Sherpa Climbers on K2's Deadliest
 Day'

Amanda Padoan presents the history of Himalayan exploration from the perspective of Sherpa mountaineers in her extraordinary book, "Buried in the Sky," co-authored with Peter Zuckerman. Joining Amanda is special guest Chhiring Dorje Sherpa, who will share his heroic story of rescuing Pasang Lama on K2. This event is sponsored by the UAA Creative Writing and Literary Arts Department and the UAA Campus Bookstore. This event is free with free parking in the Fine Arts parking lot.
