September 2012: Suicide prevention training opportunity

Become a gatekeeper: suicide prevention training opportunity, Sept. 5, 10 and 12You signed up for classes, bought all your books and moved into your new place.  You are ready for a great year! Have you prepared for how to help yourself and others at the greatest time of need?

UAA Integrated Suicide Prevention Initiative (UAA-ISPI) offers gatekeeper training for students to help them recognize suicide risk and feel confident intervening with someone who may be suicidal. During this training you will learn about warning signs of suicide, how to effectively interact with someone who may be at risk for suicide and what campus and community resources are available.

There are no prerequisites to take part in this training and everyone is welcome. Sign up today to join the community of gatekeepers on the UAA campus!
