Meet at University Lake Building, Room 110A

UAA Facilities & Campus Services and the Office of Sustainability are sponsoring a tree-planting event at the UAF Farm in Palmer on Friday, Sept. 14. You are invited to help us plant trees, keep UAA green and continue its commitment to sustainability.

We will meet at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, in Room 110A of the University Lake Building (click here for map) for breakfast snacks and a required safety briefing.

From there, we will ride the UAA Shuttle Bus out to the experimental farm in Palmer and spend a few hours planting trees. We should return to campus around 3 p.m.

Dress for the weather: please wear long pants, long sleeve shirts, rugged footwear and gloves if you have them. You will be working in tall grass and on sloping hills. Please inform us of any special needs at the time of your registration.

Water and snacks will also be provided!

We are limited to about 25 volunteers; students, staff and faculty are all welcome.  Please R.S.V.P. to jdstariwat@alaska.edu if you plan to attend.

UAA has a No Net Tree Loss Policy, so you will be helping replace trees that were removed to accommodate our growing campus.

Contact jdstariwat@alaska.edu to R.S.V.P. and for more information.
