Prof. Tom Ravens presents 'Climate Change in Alaska: A Look at Water Issues and Solutions' - Oct. 18, 2012

Thursday, Oct. 18, 5-7 p.m. UAA Campus Bookstore UAA Civil Engineering Professor Tom Ravens, Ph.D., gives an overview of his work on climate change in Alaska. Topics include climate change and other impacts (e.g., ocean acidification) associated with excessive greenhouse gas emissions; Alaska-related impacts of climate change (such as increased flooding, erosion and water quality in Western and Northern Alaska); and the availability of renewable energy in Alaska and in the U.S.--with a focus on hydrokinetic energy.
