What is TAPESTRY? TAPESTRY is a newly formed UAA Workforce Credential program that assists young adults who experience an intellectual disability or cognitive impairment in the transition from high school to college and beyond. Volunteers choose from either tutoring or social mentoring and program staff can help you find the level of mentorship that works best for you.
Why become a TAPESTRY Mentor? To name just a few reasons: build your resume; be a part of the first program like this in Alaska; receive professional training in mentoring and working with individuals with disabilities; earn class credit for volunteer hours; build friendships with amazing young adults; and be part of a community of support for students at UAA.
