Senshi-Con, Sept. 29-30Senshi-Con, an annual convention held in Anchorage for fans of Japanese animation and video games, began back in 2005 as a collaboration between multiple high school anime and video game clubs and took place in the West High cafeteria on March 4 of that year.

Shortly after, the founding members began attending UAA, formed the UAA Anime Club and have held the convention on campus every year since. Attendance has grown from 300 to 1,000 people, with visitors even coming from out of state.

This year's Senshi-Con, organized by the same group of UAA alums, will be held in the Student Union and Lucy Cuddy Hall, Sept. 29-30. Events include gaming tournaments, karaoke, cosplay competitions, anime showings and a Senshi-Dance. Special guest of this year's 'Con will be Robert Axelrod, best known as the voice of Lord Zedd on "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers."
