As our country continues the present undertaking of the war in Afghanistan, soldiers returning home need our support now more than ever. Please join Charles Hoge for a lecture titled "'Once a Warrior Always a Warrior: Navigating the Transition from Combat to Home." Dr. Hoge's lectures work to educate and inform on the circumstances that a present day warrior has to face.

Dr. Charles Hoge, Colonel, U.S. Army, served in the military as a psychiatrist and provided treatment to soldiers and their family members. Hoge is a nationally known expert on military-related post-traumatic stress disorder, mild traumatic brain injury and other physiological reactions to war, as well as treatment strategies for war-related conditions. Hoge's lectures pull from his experience on working with soldiers transitioning from hostile war zones to their home life. His book, Once a Warrior--Always a Warrior, delves into how a soldier's knowledge is vital to himself or herself. Hoge's work also strives to improve combat stress care within our military system. Now retired from military service, Hoge is a passionate advocate for reducing the stigma on mental health care within the military.
