Fall 2012: Blackboard upgrade set for winter break

by Michelle Saport  |

UAA will be upgrading our version of Blackboard over winter break. As a result, Blackboard will be unavailable Dec. 22-29.

The new version of Blackboard features a redesigned, less cluttered interface and some new features. For details, see the "What's New in Blackboard" page.

The Faculty Technology Center will host three faculty focus groups on the new Blackboard:

  • Friday, Nov. 9, 9:15-10:15 a.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 9, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 14, 1-2 p.m.

All faculty and those assisting faculty are invited to attend a session to check out the new version and give FTC suggestions on faculty support. The sessions are in LIB 214 and via eLive. To learn how to attend via eLive, visit the FTC Workshops page.

Look for workshops on the new version in December.

This upgrade will have no impact on your courses. Blackboard will still function the same way. It just looks different and has a few added features.
