Interest rates befuddle you? UAA business student offers free class on financial literacy Nov. 15 and 16

Thursday and Friday, Nov. 15 and 16, 3-5 p.m.
Rasmuson Hall, Room 303

Phillip Izon is studying investment management at UAA while he works full time at Wells Fargo Bank. In his day job, he sees many fellow college students in the dark about student loans and other important matters of financial literacy. To help with that problem, he is teaching two free classes on the basics of financial education.

He writes:

"I am from Oklahoma and I went to college in Colorado. I moved to Alaska to spend time with family and finish my degree. I am currently a student at UAA and I am going to school for investment management. I decided a long time ago that work experience partnered with my degree would take me very far. I have been working for Wells Fargo for two years and throughout that time I have seen a really troubling trend. Most college students do not know enough about finances to manage their lives while they are in school and after.

If you have any questions about careers in finance, financial products, how to manage credit cards and leverage them to your advantage or financial aid, please stop by my free seminar on financial education. I'll have free pizza on hand too. Any questions may be directed to my work email, Phillip.Izon@wellsfargo.com, or my school email, paizonii@alaska.edu."

Izon is doing this as a public service and is not marketing Wells Fargo products.
