Panigkaq Agatha John-Shields, assistant professor of education, was the emcee for the afternoon where a full house heard from Athabaskan elders Marilyn Balluta and Daisy Demientieff as well as Tyonek elder Freida McCord. The afternoon presentation also featured dancing and singing by the Kingikmiut Dancers, a Native Regalia Review by the Native Student Council and delicious food like caribou stew and fry bread.

Megan Olson, Vice Chancellor for Advancement, also spoke and welcomed students from East High School and the Take Wing Alaska students who were visiting from rural communities throughout the state.
