Join us for a free public talk by neuroscientist and best-selling author Lise Eliot, Ph.D., on themes from her latest book, "Pink Brain, Blue Brain: How Small Differences Grow into Troublesome Gaps and What We Can Do About It."

A private reception for donors will be held before the lecture, with book signing to follow the talk.

Eliot is associate professor of neuroscience at Chicago Medical School. A Chicago native, she received a B.A. from Harvard University, a Ph.D. from Columbia University and did post-doctoral research at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. In addition to teaching and writing, Eliot lectures widely on children's brain and mental development.

Eliot's Alaska trip is presented by Best Beginnings, a nonprofit advocate for early learning in Alaska, with support from NEA-Alaska and Alyeska Pipeline Service Company. Additional support for the public lecture is provided by Anchorage Public Library, UAA College of Education and UAA Honors College.
