Help us tell students about green fee funds; deadline for proposals is April 5

by Michelle Saport  |

This past fall semester, USUAA Student Government began collecting a green fee of $3 per semester from students enrolled at UAA's main campus. This fee supports student sustainability projects and research. Sustainability is defined as economically sound, socially just and/or environmentally wise, so the emphasis is not exclusively on environmental projects.

USUAA raised $34,000 through this fee in fall 2012 and is now accepting proposals from students for funds and projects to promote sustainability efforts on the UAA campus. The student must have a faculty or staff advisor for their project or research. Students need you and this will help us improve campus. Please reach out to students to inform them about this available source of funding and offer to be an advisor if you can. If you are interested in being an advisor, please contact Center for Community Engagement and Learning, who will maintain a database of potential advisors for students to contact, at (907) 786-4062.
