More than 500 items donated to AWAIC through Coat & Sock Drive

Donations were made to the Coat & Sock Drive Nov. 26-Dec 14, 2012, at the following locations: Student Information (UC), ESPM Department (UC 155C), Consortium Library, Social Sciences Building, Engineering Building, Health Science Building, Rasmuson Hall, Professional Studies Building, Gordon Hartlieb Hall, General Support Services, Diplomacy Building and Chugiak-Eagle River Campus.

Thanks to Brandon Jones for the wonderful flyer and printing out 50 colored copies for us.

Thanks to our wonderful volunteers for decorating their own boxes, monitoring their boxes, delivering their donations to the UAA/APU Consortium Library or making arrangements for pickup. Volunteers: Connie Dennis, Megan Poulson, Natalie Kowal, Brandon Jones, Fannie Slaten, Megan Tompkins, Annie Passarello, Louise Kempker, Bethany Foster, Eva Wilson, Kathy Smith and Tamah Haynes.

Thanks to the donors we had a total of 586 items donated. Breakdown: 118 coats/jackets, 233 pairs of socks, 15 pairs of gloves/mittens, 36 hats, 26 scarves, two boots, 104 miscellaneous items of clothing (such as underwear, thermal wear, pajamas, pants, shirts, hoodies), 48 stuffed animals and four cans of puppy food].

Donations were made on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, to AWAIC. Thanks to Carol Douthit and Tamah Haynes for delivering the donations.
