Thursday, Feb. 21, 10-11:30 a.m.
UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 307

The UAA Integrated Suicide Prevention Initiative is hosting Bryan Adams, part of the Active Minds Speakers Bureau. Active Minds Inc. is a nonprofit organization supporting a national network of students who organize campus-based chapters focused on mental health education. The UAA Active Minds chapter is a group of students, staff and faculty involved in mental health advocacy and campus events that work to change negative perceptions about mental health disorders on our campus.

While visiting UAA, Bryan will discuss his personal journey as a combat veteran and a college student as well as his experiences with mental health. This presentation for interested staff and faculty members will be followed by a Q-and-A session for attendees to gain practical ideas on how to address students who may be struggling with mental health problems at UAA. Refreshments will be served.

Additional information about Bryan can be found on the Active Minds website.
