UAA's Anchorage, Eagle River/Chugiak and JBER campuses to close at 3 p.m. March 25, 2013 due to heavy snowfall

UAA's Anchorage, Eagle River/Chugiak and JBER campuses will close at 3 p.m. today, Monday, March 25, 2013 due to heavy snowfall in the Anchorage area. Classes that begin AFTER 3 p.m. on these campuses will be canceled for today, March 25, 2013. Faculty, staff and students who are currently on campus are encouraged to leave prior to the rush hour beginning.

Parking enforcement will cease at 3 p.m. in conjunction with the closure. Pay 'N Park machines and parking meters will not be covered, but permit parking enforcement will be suspended until 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, or when campus re-opens.

Again, the Anchorage, Eagle River/Chugiak and JBER campuses will close at 3 p.m. today, March 25, 2013.

ADDITIONAL RELATED ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Seawolf Shuttle operations In conjunction with the UAA Anchorage, JBER and Eagle River/Chugiak campus closures today at 3 p.m., UAA Seawolf Shuttle services will be abbreviated through 5 p.m. today.  Only the UC and Full Campus routes will be operational from 3-5 p.m. with all Seawolf Shuttle Transportation ceasing for the day at 5 p.m. The 3:35 p.m. Aviation service will also run, but only to return students from the Aviation Complex.

This abbreviated service is being done to provide timely transportation for students and staff as campus closes, however the safety of driving staff during rush hour is also important to the management team.

Parking Services Parking enforcement will also cease at 3 p.m. in conjunction with the closure. Pay'n'Park machines and parking meters will not be covered, but permit parking enforcement will be suspended beginning at 3 p.m. and will resume tomorrow at 7:30 a.m., or when the University reopens.
