2013 Kachemak Bay Writers' Conference

Held annually in Homer, the Kachemak Bay Writers' Conference is a nationally recognized writing conference features workshops, readings and panel presentations in fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and the business of writing. This year's conference will be held June 14-18. Registration is now open and early-bird rates are available until May 4.

Available activities include daily workshops, panel presentations, readings and craft talks; opening keynote dinner plus four luncheons; manuscript reviews; sessions dedicated to an "open mic" for conference registrants; evening readings open to the public; agent/editor consultations; boat cruise; "first pages" session; writers' circles; silent auction of literary and book related items to raise scholarship funds; and a post-conference workshop.

The 2013 keynote speaker is Naomi Shihab Nye. Featured conference faculty this year include Sean Hill, Ann Hood, Sara Loewen, Nancy Lord, Karen McElmurray, Melinda Moustakis, Dan O'Niell, Nicole Stellon O'Donnell, Lee Ann Roripaugh, Alexis Rizzuto, Eva Saulitis, Peggy Shumaker, Sherry Simpson and Deb Vanasse.

UAA students can also earn credit for attending the conference.
