by Michelle Saport  |

All UA staff, faculty and students are invited to attend the 18th Annual Teaching Colleges and Community (TCC) Worldwide Online Conference taking place April 16-18. Registration is offered free of charge courtesy of UAF eLearning. The conference offers faculty, staff and administrators in higher education worldwide the opportunity to share their expertise and engage in productive forums about innovations and practices that accompany the use of technology in teaching and learning. This year, everyone will find new ways to interact, collaborate and learn at TCC.

To register for the conference: 1. Create your account In order to access the online conference sessions, you will need to create a Badgestack community username and password. Setting one up is easy. Visit the registration page and complete the form. For the "Participant Invite Code" field, enter TCC937.

After completing the form, check your email for the confirmation note from TCC. Click on the included link to log in to the TCC community.

2. Check your computer The live sessions will take place on the Elluminate Live platform. To ensure compatibility, we highly recommend that you visit the "Technical Check" page from the computer you plan to use to participate in the live presentations.

You need headphones or speakers to listen to the live session audio. A microphone is recommended, but not required.

To access the live sessions: During the conference, enter all live sessions from the description of each presentation. Click on "Live Program," also located at the top of every TCC community page, for a complete list.

At the start of an event, find the presentation of interest and click the title of the session to be directed to the session's description. Next, click the green "Enter" button that appears immediately beneath the description and you'll be on your way into the virtual room for that session.

A note regarding time zones The time and date for each event is listed on the "Program" page in Hawaii Standard Time, which is two hours behind Alaska Daylight Savings Time. The current conference time is displayed on the right hand side of each page. You can also click the "HST" link next to the time on any session page to see its time listed in time zones around the world.
