2013 Japanese Summer Festival

Celebrate the rich culture of Japan and the strong bonds of friendship shared between Alaska and Japan at the Japanese Summer Festival. Chancellor Tom Case is scheduled to present the opening remarks. Raffle and grand prizes will be given away. Learn more about the Japanese culture and join in on the fun!

Event Schedule:   11 a.m. - Opening Ceremony 11:30 a.m. - Alaska Kendo Club Demo 12 p.m. - Festival Bon Odori & Yosakoi Dance 12:30 p.m. - Ikebana Flower Demo (inside) & Tug-of-War (outside) 1:15 p.m. - Tanaka's Karate Exhibition 1:45 p.m. - Watermelon Smash 2 p.m. - Live Music: Guest Artist - Seth Boyer 2:30 p.m. - Tug-of-War 2:45 p.m. - Bon Odori Summer Festival Dance 3 p.m. - Raffle Drawing 3:30 p.m. - Closing Ceremony - Tomodachi Daiko Drummers
