KRC's new residence life staff completes emergency training

During the week of Aug. 5, several members of the Kenai River Campus' new residence life staff completed the Campus-Community Emergency Response Team basic training course. The participants learned skills for minimizing the loss of life and property following an emergency, until professional responders can arrive.

Instructors from UAA Emergency Management, Central Emergency Services, Soldotna Police and Borough Emergency Management covered topics like fire suppression, search & rescue, first aid and terrorism. Completing the two days of training were Krystal Gray, Jheyson Jimenez, Kristen McBride, Sean McBride, Hannah Parker, John Pollock, Scott Sellers and Naomi Smardo.
