'Whistleblowers, Traitors and Free Speech: The Duty of News Media Today' - Sept. 27, 2013

In honor of Banned Book Week, the UAA Campus Bookstore is hosting a panel discussion on issues concerning national security, censorship and the media, with a focus on the recent controversies surrounding WikiLeaks and The Guardian. Panelists include: Matt Tunseth, editor of the Anchorage Press; Steve Heimel, senior editor and producer for Alaska Public Media; Paola Banchero, chair of UAA's Department of Journalism and Public Communications; and attorney John McKay, adjunct professor in UAA's Department of Journalism and Public Communications.
