Legislative Internship Program; apply by Oct. 15

In cooperation with other University of Alaska campuses, Alaska Pacific University and Sheldon Jackson University, UAA's Political Science Department coordinates a 12-credit internship program with the Alaska Legislature every year. Interns gain firsthand experience in the political process while working in a legislator's office in the State Capitol during the Legislative Session, January-May. This program helps qualified students from any Alaska university campus gain practical experience in the legislative process as part of their degree program. Interns are required to work 30 hours per week for the 17-week session. The practical placement is combined with an internship seminar, which begins one week before the session and continues through the end of April.

This internship is open to all juniors and seniors, regardless of major. The application deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 11:59 p.m. For more information and to apply, visit the Legislative Internship Program website.
